Denver Big Air

The past four days I've been posted up Downtown Denver for this Denver Big Air event. I actually grew up skating and being a little hoodrat in Denver, but eventually made the move to the mountains to pursue my snow-shred saga. So it's a little ironic that I was back at my stomping grounds for a snowboard event... Pretty awesome.

The whole production actually ended up being a lot more fun than expected. The jump was was smooth, the riders were cool, and they treated us really well. Getting put up at the Sheraton Hotel was pretty classy, as I got to chow down on the best breakfast buffet I've ever experienced.. I live for breakfast buffets.


This scaffolding was a bitch to hike, and by far the sketchiest part of the jump.. my legs were noodles at the end of the trip. Good thing there were chain-smoking sherpas to carry our boards on the contest day!

North Face Masters

Ross Just finished up with the 1st stop of The North Face Masters event at Snowbird Utah.
From what I hear Ross has taken a whole new approach to big mountain riding. The whole goal is to make it from the top to bottom in the most creative, daring, smoothest, and fastest way. While for most people that means getting some epic pow slashes and dropping a few cliffs with maybe a 360, Ross decides to throw in a front 180, cab 5, and a switch backside rodeo. Not to mention he bombed the first part of the course switch!

Though Ross didnt win (had a couple sketchy landings from what I was told) he still was put in Fourth place due to his creativity and pure GNARLYNESS!!

Should Zack Shave the Stash???

So lately I've been hearing rumors that a major tragedy could happen within the next week. Apparently Zack has been being pressured into getting rid of that sexy arrangement of facial hair on his upper lip. Frankly, I just don't think that its fair and will not stand for this decision being just up to Zack because that would be downright selfish. If you feel like me, or feel anything at all make sure you cast your vote on proposition 8 for the fate of Zack's most elegant lady magnet. Plus! If all goes well and the stash is chosen to serve another term on Zack's face, Brett Esser agreed to bet that the first of these two to get rid of their moose stash's has to compete in skier Slopestyle and Halfpipe of the following years Spring MASSIVE! Wow the stakes are high! I am literally on the edge of my seat. If you want Zack to continue being the young Johnny Depp of his time make sure to vote in favor our beloved friend, "The Caterpillar on Zack's Lip". But hurry up because sources tell me a decision must be made by Sunday! Thank you and good day.

So If you haven't heard our dear friend Dylan Bidez unfortunately tore his ACL and meniscus down under in New Zealand this summer. He had to come home early for surgery to begin a 6 month journey of rehabbing his poor knee. Although we miss him and wish he could still be traveling with us he had to stay home and get that knee ready to stomp some backies. We know it has been hard for him and not the most ideal situation but his hard work will soon pay off. Plus, he has found a new love in his life. And yes, its a female. Though we haven't met her yet, we would like to introduce you to Dylan's new girlfriend Mary. We hope you had a great time on your lovers vacation getaway and look forward to your most excellent return to snowboarding coming very soon this February! We miss you and love you! Say hi to Mary from the all the boys at The Station!

Rabbit Ears Pass-Steamtonbergshireville

So During this winter break my friend Robbie Dapper and I did a little backcountry snowshoe excursion up on Rabbit Ears Pass with the help of our friend Matt Wood who guided us around to these never-been-shredded-lines with "the" Kurtis C. Jackson shooting photos. I would like to call it a little diamond in the ruff, or, like I named one specific spot here, "El Dorado". The original plan was to hike up on a thursday morning and set up a jump to let it set then hit a few pow lines, after that we planned to set up camp and stay overnight to rip up the jump the morning. Unfortunately the weather forecast was calling for 30 degrees below 0 so we made like a few smart teenagers and pulled out. We still got some quality time in scoping future pow zones and dropping a few cliffs. Thankfully, Kurtis was there to capture these powder puffed moments in time! Check this shit out! and remember.... dont be a pussy.

Euro Times

So I had to ditch the crew in Crested Butte a few days early to fly out to the European Open in Laax, Switzerland. It was rough to leave all the big fluffy pillows, but this trip ended up being a blast. I flew out with our boy Brett Esser and gang, and ended up rooming with Luke and Mikkel Bang. It was Mikkel's 21st on the first night I got in, and I'm sure you can imagine how that went.

On another not, Laax ended up being of the dopest mountains I've ever riden... basically has every type of terrain you could ask for, and a fresh park and pipe. Here are a few lame photos from the trip.. and a decent edit coming soon! Wish I took more photos.. my bad.

Good Times in Crested Butte

Some of the gang made it down to Crested Butte for the last few days. We stayed in a cabin deep in the woods with nothing but good people, fresh air, and a ton of snow. Such an awesome trip. Wait till you guys see the video from this...
